#Cbt nuggets ccnp switch lab how to#
I'm hoping I already have the foundations for TSHOOT, as I broke things on so many occasions during SWITCH, that I know how to troubleshoot pretty much anything I encountered during CCNP SWITCH. As you mention, I can always renew just by passing TSHOOT. One thing I'm happy with, is I'll likely never have to take this exam again. Now I'm going to ROUTE, I know how to learn, but my ROUTE needs close attention. A large part of the SWITCH exam for me was learning how to learn, the switching itself was almost secondary. I'm looking forward to the challenge of ROUTE. Combine things together and see what works and what doesn't. Configure everything possible on an access port, trunk port & etherchannel.

I've renewed my 'P' exams twice with the TSHOOT, that has to be my favourite 'P' exam as you can get to diagnose thing! ROUTE is hard, but remember the basics you got fro the CCNA, those foundations will come flooding back. Well done, and especially for not brain dumping it, the hard work will pay dividends! I wouldn't be surprised if CCNP Route took me 1 year or even more to pass. but routing, I don't think I've touched routing since my CCNA. Route is going to be really tough for me, as I have basically zero route experience.Īs I've worked in small - medium size companies for all of my IT career, I sometimes get involved in managing VLANs, trunk links, ether channels, NTP, PoE and so on.

I've still got to pass Route & Troubleshoot to get my full CCNP. I was doing 3-4 hours daily & 5-6 hours on the weekend, yet I found it would be a good 1-2 weeks before I went back and reviewed a certain chapter. It's not just labbing, but pure remembering an absolute ton of facts. The amount of knowledge required to pass the Switch exam is pretty crazy. I have a fair amount of Cisco Switch experience so I thought this wouldn't be too difficult.

Anyone with that certification definitely has my respect. Those test are nothing like the real world and require a lot of knowledge of Cisco. I have been doing Cisco work for a very long time.
